The radical foundations for Nazism couldn't have been implemented into German life without the work of Goebbels. It seemed nearly impossible to move an entire nation towards Nazism. Goebbels’ mastery of propaganda and methods of exploiting new communications and technology helped him defy these odds. He forever changed and set a precedent for how radio, film, speeches, and other new communications-based technologies can be used for propaganda purposes.

Sadly, several million German soldiers and civilians died for their country during WWII as a result of Goebbel's work. Their deaths have taught us the consequences of not only Nazism, but also the dangers of improper use of communications to radicalize populations. In our modern-day, radicalism is back on the rise as powerful individuals use the media, television, and other mediums to indoctrinate others. Politicians and radical groups use it to gain power and spur conflict such as the current situation in Palestine and Israel as well as the rise of ISIS from 2011-2014. Let all of us beware of this recurring history and fight to stop it.
